What our experts thought…
We were very excited to see a cheaper alternative to the Dayclox range of digital clocks, and this YCOO Extra-Large Digital Clock didn’t disappoint.
The YCOO model has been designed with dementia patients in mind. It’s a real winner when it comes to ease of use, with the standout feature being the crystal-clear display that spells out the complete day, date, and time. This feature is especially helpful for those with dementia who may struggle with abbreviated words or numeric displays.
The clock’s large, well-lit screen ensures that even from a distance of 20-30 feet, users can effortlessly read the information they need. It’s a simple yet highly effective solution for individuals who want to regain confidence in keeping track of time and date. It can be either wall-mounted or placed on a table.
One of the features we found most useful when testing the product was the ability to add multiple alarms with custom tags – e.g., for appointment or medication reminders. The only downside to these is that they were a little fiddly to set up.
Overall, the YCOO clock’s ease of use, durability, and affordability make it an essential addition to any home caring for individuals with dementia.
